RECENT NEWS ...

1.   FALL 2011 MINI-GRANT CYCLE.  The Foundation has established a twice-yearly cycle of Mini-Grants to fund innovative program ideas by our teachers and administrators.  In Spring 2011, we funded five such programs, at all three Schools.  Proposals for the Fall 2011 Mini-Grant Cycle have recently been submitted, and we expect to announce the recipients of the Fall 2011 Mini-Grants shortly!

2. GLOBAL ENCOUNTER - AN EXCITING ADVENTURE!  The Foundation has  funded the participation by all 155 Third Graders at Smith and Meadowbrook in a year-long virtual TRIP AROUND THE WORLD!  The students will be joining two men from Texas by videocast, live videoconferences, GPS tracking, monitored e-mail and other means as they visit 21 countries, exploring amazing sights and other cultures.  The journey began on New Year's 2012, and will continue through the summer and fall (as Fourth Graders).  More info to come soon.

3.  CASINO NIGHT 2011 WAS A HUGE SUGGESS!  Our Second Annual Casino Night was attended by more than 180 parents, teachers and community members, raising over $9,000 for enrichment programs in our schools!  Thanks to all of you and to our generous sponsors.  To see more about the event, click here.  And, to see more about our generous sponsors, click here.

4.  PASCACK VALLEY SPRINT TRIATHLON 2011.  The Event was held on Saturday, August 27, 2011 and for the third year, the Race Directors named the Foundation as the Beneficiary of the sponsor proceeds of this GREAT event!  More than $5,300 was raised for our schools!  More than 250 runners, bikers and swimmers participated.  To see photos from the event, click here.  To see more about our generous sponsors, click here.

5.  GEORGE WHITE WINTER ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS.  Once again, the Foundation will be funding the Winter After-School Enrichment Classes at George White Middle School.  We're hoping to expand the offerings this year.  If you have program ideas, or can conduct or help conduct a class (or know someone who can, please let us know.  We need your ideas and your support!

6.   ANTHONY S. DeNORCHIA HONORARY GRANT PROGRAM.  The Foundation has established this Grant, and initially endowed it with $1,000 from its own budget, to honor Mr. DeNorchia's legacy of innovative education.  The Grant will be directed toward curricular enhancements, professional development, and other programs in the area of TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATION -- helping to ensure that the Schools are making the most effective use of technology.  To make a donation toward this Grant, and for more information, please click here.

7.  TD BANK AFFINITY PROGRAM -- YOU CAN RAISE FUNDS FOR OUR SCHOOLS WITHOUT SPENDING A PENNY!!  The Foundation has enrolled in TD Bank's Affinity Program to assist in fundraising.  If you open an account at TD Bank, or link your existing account, TD Bank will DONATE its own money in a percentage of your balance to the Foundation and our schools -- at NO COST to you.  This is a completely painless and cost-free way to help our schools.  For more information, please click here.

8.  TRUSTEE POSITIONS.  The Foundation is  actively seeking new Board Members, including Parent Trustees and two Community Member Trustees (no school affiliation necessary).  If you are interested in joining us as a Trustee, please contact us.

9.  CORPORATE DONATIONS.  The main, and very worthwhile, business of the Foundation is raising funds for enrichment programs which cannot be accommodated by our VERY strained school budget.  Our primary means of doing this is donations and grants from corporations, government agencies and individuals.  If you or your business might be interested in helping, please contact us.

10.  VOLUNTEERS.  The Foundation is always seeking volunteers to help with its ongoing work, even on a limited basis -- we know your time is valuable.  If you support the goals of the Foundation, and are agreeable to being called on for specific, limited assistance at the level you can manage, please contact us.
